Abstract

Geopolitics, as a subject, has rapidly been gaining interest around the world - not only for people interested to work or study in the field, but also for individuals eager to understand how the political climate in various regions affects other countries, including theirs. However, with the topic being vast and complex, without prior knowledge it may prove to be difficult to grasp for people unfamiliar with the terms of the trade. This paper will largely focus on how geopolitical issues can be planned, edited, and presented to the common public in a way that accurately depicts the basics of said issues, while also highlighting the impacts certain political events have on our lives, with the aim to promote more engagement from the general public, especially the youth, in geopolitical matters. The study will also explore the various ways in which students from the Humanities discipline can understand the nature of geopolitics in relation to context, location, cultures, human behavior, and power dynamics. In order to better understand how editing and planning can play a role in this matter, this report will showcase samples from articles published in the English daily newspaper Dhaka Tribune on geopolitical matters, along with in-depth analyses on how the final versions were decided upon. I will also include my findings and thoughts on the data collected.
