Abstract
The key focus of this research is interpreting and analyzing numerous functionalities of sounds, orchestrated in both The Tempest and Game of Thrones (GoT), in terms of the characters’ (most of them) perspectives, reactions, and expressions against the sounds. Thereby, a clarification will be given on how various sounds affect the characters, along with several impacts on them. In addition, another significant focus of this research is comparing both of the works to show the parallel and distinct aspects among them, in relation to the above mentioned terms. This entire investigation is done considering some crucial arguments on Post colonialism and Psychoanalysis, to justify the analysis, which might fulfill the aims of this study. Some journal articles and chapter of books will be reviewed, in relation to the aims of this study, which will be significantly influential for the development of this thesis. Hence, the outcomes of this study might portray certain human emotions (i.e., anger, frustration, agony), in terms of the stratagem of using acoustic features against the enemies, by different characters. Besides, these emotions of the characters will be poured out encountering the soundscapes, having distinct mindsets about the sonic features, in both The Tempest and GoT.
