Abstract

Capitalism has been a synonymous topic when it comes about the consequences of development, prosperity and profit operation. Followed by this, exploitation initially takes up its place and has been exposed to the darkest sides massively in literature during the earlier ages. Many things are yet to be discussed even in recent times, one of those is the victim’s trauma resulting from the decimated mental health that is caused by the exploitation itself. This research on Stranger Things will highlight the factors of capitalism and mental impact on Eleven that will work as a prognosis on this matter. The research will be conducted to simplify the lack of study on trauma of the victims who suffer from exploitation during their childhood and the following effects of it. Diverse research and featured components will be used in this study through the lens of Marxism, traumatic realism and how trauma takes place as a result of earlier traumatic events. This research will make a comprehension in cultural research that will let researchers contemplate capitalism, on the mental health of the victims who have witnessed it thoroughly therefore, that it does not only remain within the boundaries of capitalism but also focus on the innocent victims who suffer their whole life questioning their own selves. The aim of this paper is to represent how the exploitation of capitalism affects a particular victim through the hierarchy of a capitalistic society through Stranger Things and Eleven (as a prime victim) and also how it creates an impact on later life that becomes a reason for a doubtful mental health.
