| dc.description.abstract | The dissertation titled Changing Tides is a realist play that deals with the issues of abandonment, loneliness, dysfunctional families, bullying and hustle culture. These are a few pressing and timely issues in our society. However, most of them goes unnoticed and when we become mindful about the problems, we are left on our own. The irony of our age is that we have lost our emotional and mental connection with our loved ones as well as ourselves, despite being in the era of the connecting devices, social media platforms and globalization. The issues presented in the play, does not need some extreme utopian solution or magical touch to disappear from our lives. It is possible to get rid of the problems through communicating and spending time with our loved ones. | |
